So you can look forward to cozy evenings in the open air, at exciting places and most importantly with great films. And now, "Action!".

Already since 1st June (until 31st August) the cinema on the roof waits with a very special location for you, namely the roof of Vienna's main library. So you can not only watch exciting films, this year's focus is on films of US independent cinema, but also have a magnificent view over Vienna by night.

Probably the best known and also largest spectacle is the film festival on the Rathausplatz which this year goes from 14th July to 4th September. Here not only awaits you a giant screen and a wide program, but also an huge gastronomic offer all over the place. So why not go on a small culinary around the world tour before the movie starts?

A cinema on tour is the VOLXkino, as here the cinema comes directly to you namely on 45 days to 35 venues in 16 districts. Whether it is in parks, between public housing, in public places and markets, on the Gürtel or on the outskirts, you always have nice evenings with free admission. On 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th July the VOLXkino stops here in Hernals at the Dornerplatz.

Do you want to get a cinematic experience in a historical context with a fascinating scenery, be sure to go to cinema in the castle, which will be held in Simmering in Schloss Neugebäude. Until 1st September a colourful program for the entire family waits for you.

Also at an idyllic setting, the cinema under stars takes place from 1st – 23rd July, namely in front of the Karlskirche. This year already for the 20th time. This festival too comes with a colorful mix of films.

Located in the 8th district, the garden of the Volkskundemuseum opens its doors from 5th July to 26th August for the Short Film Festival "dotdotdot“. As the name suggests you will see here various short films. And afterwards, how about chilling out at the Altes AKH, as it is just a few steps away?

I wish you a wonderful summer in Vienna, enjoy the warm evenings and look forward to fine cinematic experiences.

Greetings from the Appartements Ferchergasse
