Already in Christmas mood?
The feeling is that summer has just ended and now it is only a few weeks until Christmas. This is also slowly noticeable in Vienna: the streets are decorated with the Christmas lights again, in the shops there is already the Christmas bakery and in a few days the Christmas markets open again.
As always, you can find a good overview of the Christmas markets in Vienna and all opening times on the website of the Vienna Tourist Board.
Explore the Christmas Markets starting from Hernals
From the apartments, you can easily reach the Christmas markets in the first district by tram 43, and then it's just a short walk.
Especially easy you come to the Christmas market in the old AKH, just get off at the tram station Langegasse and you are there. This is also one of my personal favorites. Because this market is a bit smaller and the many Christmas trees in between bring a very unique atmosphere.
Also the Christmas market in front of the Schönbrunn Palace can easily be reached from our location. Take the bus 10A, which drives at Wattgasse and get off in front of Schönbrunn Palace. That’s it, really fast and easy.
If you also want to have a great view over Vienna from the Christmas market, then enjoy the one in front of the Schloss Wilhelminenberg. It is not far from us either. A short walk to the bus 46A and then get out in front of the castle.
Only a few minutes away from the apartments there will be another very special Christmas market this year. Especially because vegan, sustainable, small, fine, family and above all because here is a lot of love inside. It is organized by the Waldgasthaus Zur Allee and also takes place right there, at the beginning of the Schwarzenberg Park. Dates are 9.12 / 10. 12 and 16.12 / 17.12. I'm really looking forward to it and will definitely go there. Unfortunately, it will take place for the last time this year. So go there in any case, maybe there is a small (big) Christmas miracle and we can look forward to the vegan Christmas market again next year.
Enjoy Christmas atmosphere in the apartment
The fine thing of staying in an apartment is also that you can take many delicacies from the Christmas markets with you. Then cook a fine tea (or a homemade punch or mulled wine) and just continue to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.
