Colourful Easter time in Vienna

Easter time in Vienna

Around Easter it will be colorful and cheerful again in Vienna, because the popular Easter markets have opened their doors again. And this year again a varied program awaits you.

Right in the city center, two markets are waiting for you, the Altwiener Ostermarkt on the Freyung and the Ostermarkt am Hof. From us you can easily get there by tram 43, simply get off at the stop Schottentor and then 2-3 minutes on foot and you're there.

At the Altwiener Ostermarkt you will find Easter handicrafts, culinary Easter specialties and can once again marvel at Europe's largest Easter egg mountain with more than 40,000 painted Easter eggs. The colorful program with music and activities for children completes the visit.

From the Altwiener Ostermarkt you just walk on to the Ostermarkt am Hof, which also offers many varied market stalls and also provides you with culinary delights.

The Easter market with the most atmospheric scenery is the Easter market in front of the Schönbrunn Palace. Around 60 exhibitors from Austria and the surrounding area are waiting for you. What I personally find very pleasant at this market is that you have enough space to stroll and look around, as there is simply more space between the market stalls. For the youngest visitors, as every year, there is a colorful, cheerful program. From the Easter bunny workshop to the easter nest search, fun and variety are guaranteed. And if you're already in Schönbrunn, then you can combine it with a visit to Schönbrunn Palace or the zoo. Or just take a spring walk through the beautiful park and end with a coffee in the coffee house in the Gloriette. And from our location you can easily and directly take the 10A bus to Schönbrunn Palace and be there in just 20 minutes.

Directly in our district in Hernals is the Kalvarienbergfest, right next to Elterleinplatz. Above all, the experience and active participation is in the foreground. Whether it's art workshops, music or children's programs, there is something for everyone to be active and to do something by themselves. A small market completes the offer. From the apartments you can walk comfortably there on foot.

Flowery and natural are the Easter days in the flower gardens Hirschstetten. From March 31st to April 2nd, the Easter celebrations take place here. At the traditional Easter market there are specialties such as Easter ham, sweets, other regional delicacies and decorative handicrafts and Easter decorations. In addition to the market, a cheerful, nature-related supporting program awaits both children and adults alike.
