Slowly, spring is also noticeable in Vienna, and thoughts of summer are quickly arise. I know it still takes a bit of time until summer comes and summer mood prevails. But there is a very good reason for you that you already think about it, because from June 23rd to June 25th in Vienna, Europe's largest open-air festival with free admission takes place, the Danube Island Festival.

For 3 days Vienna's popular leisure paradise turns into a festival area. Around 600 hours of program with concerts, cabaret, sporting attractions and an extra program for children, more than 200 live acts on the eleven stages and 16 islands attract visitors.

And there are also some new attractions from new partners. For example the TV channel DMAX Austria with "The Beast" or Nestlé with the "Schöller Waterslide. Or Eurowings with the spectacular "Eurowings Stage-Flying" an oversized Flying Fox. You fly 160 meters along the rope over the Partycrowd and even at night, when the impressive lighting promises you a very special experience.

My stars. My festival.

The heart of the festival is, as every year, the music.

No matter what genre your favorite is rock, pop, alternative, indie, punk, hip hop, oldies, electro, pop or folk music, an array of international and domestic stars awaits you. The program will be so diverse again this year, that it is the best to look at the website for the full offer.

A special highlight is the legendary Falco-Danube Island Festival concert of 1993 that returns. Different artists work together with the original Falco band to pay tribute to the cult star.

Also the culinary aspect of the festival should not be forgotten on the Danube Island Festival, because so much program makes you hungry too. In order to be able to look forward to even more specialties from Austria, the catering service has also been extended.

The focus is on Austrian culinary culture and products from the region. Vienna is a city with lots of specialities which you can experience on the Danube Island Festival in one of the over 300 gastronomy and sales stands. For beer lovers, a specially created island beer and two new beer gardens are waiting.
