Not quite a month and Easter time is back again. Therefore I have today some tips for you what is going on in Vienna in this time, as there are some special Easter events that wait for you.

Musical Easter

Do you like classical music and are looking for something special with a high class program including a work that has been rediscovered? Then you should not miss the Osterklang festival. From 28.3 to 5.4 you have a first-class program that can not be more excellent.

The beginning make Wiener Symphoniker at the Konzerthaus, followed the next day by a concert in the Minioritenkirche. Further performances take then place in the Wiener Kammeroper, the Minoritenkirchen, in the Hofburg and at the Musikverein.

Curious? All information about the Wiener Osterklang you can find on the website of the event.

Colorful Easter

In addition to the musical highlights around Easter also some colorful Easter markets can be found in Vienna, waiting with the traditional Easter decorations, colorful easter eggs and of course some culinary specialties.

One of the most impressive Easter markets is definitely the Easter Market in front of Schönbrunn Palace. With this the majestic setting of the Schönbrunn Palace more than 60 exhibitors wait for you. The selection of crafts, loving Easter decorations, hand-painted eggs and much more is huge. Here you really find lovely Easter gifts. And if you get hungry many culinary specialties from Austria are there to choose from. For children there is a special program too.

It continues with the markets in Vienna's city center.

One is the Viennese Easter Market at Freyung that this year again will impress you with Europe's largest egg mountain (40,000 hand-painted eggs). Additionally, you will get here also a lot of Easter specialties and crafts. I also go there when I am in the Inner City and believe me the egg mountain is really impressive and also all the other things there are so lovely.

Just a few steps away there is already the next market, the Kunsthandwerksmarkt at the Hof. Here you'll find as the name already implies all kinds of handmade Easter things.

If you are our guest here in the Appartements Ferchergasse, then getting  to the Easter marktes is really easy. For the two markets in the city just go there by tram 43 and to Schönbrunn Palace you just need to take the bus 10A.

Happy Easter time

On April 5th, also the Prater is dominated by Easter as on this day there will be held a huge Easter festival. Live music, an Easter parade, a cheerful children's program and much more waits for you (so ideal if you are traveling with your children).

So what are you waiting for? Vienna has a lot to offer around Easter and the weather will be better day by day (today we have bright sunshine and the first spring flowers are already there). Isn't this perfect for planning you next visit to Vienna?

Greetings from the Appartements Ferchergasse
Stephanie
