Party atmosphere on the island


There is still some time until the end of June, but if you want to come to Vienne to one of Europe's largest open air festival, then the time is right for start with your travel plans. Because from 26.6 - 28.6. the annual Danube Island Festival takes place.

This year again 3 program-packed days are waiting for. The Danube Island Festival is definitely one of the highlights among the Viennese festivals and the program is indeed high class. That makes it really difficult for me to list you everything you can look forward to as so much is offered there.


Music is in the air

So I have prepared a short overview for you. For the full program please take just look at the website and find your personal highlights and must sees.

One main part of the Danube Island Festival is always music. No matter which genre you like most, national and international stars are just waiting to rock their audience. A brief insight into the program:

  • Anastacia on the Radio Wien festival stage
  • Middle of the Road, the supergroup from the 70s with hits like "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep", "Sacramento" or "Samson & Delilah" on the Radio Niederösterreich Schlager & Oldies - Stage
  • DAWA, the band the did not win the ballot to participate in the Euro Visions Song Contest 2015 in the Ö1 Kulturzelt

Preparations are still ongoing for the Danube Island Festival, so every day even more exciting concerts and performances add to the program.

Sport enthusiastics get ready

You prefer to spend your weekend with sports? Then why not try the latest trend sports such as Slacklining, speed climbing, the bike obstacle course, the Bagjump .... Or do you want to try the high ropes course? What about a beach volleyball match? You only have to choose.

Fun for the whole family


The Danube Island Festival is not only a huge party but also a festival for the whole family, so children can look forward to an amazing program. A lot of hands-on program, an amusement park, a children's Railway, show stages, bouncy castles and much, much more will delight even the youngest family members.
