Restaurant Liebstöckl - Authentic Viennese delights
an authentic Viennese restaurant

In the weeks coming you will find here on the blog even more tips and insights about the vicinity of the apartments, as I want to show you that our neigbourhood has a lot to offer and that you really find an authentic piece of Vienna here.

What you could alread read about were the Kongressbad, the Farmer's Market on Yppenplatz and recently the Dornbacher Pfarrer. Today I want to tell you a bit more about one of our favorite restaurants just around the corner (attention: insiders' tip, is certainly not in your travel guidebook) simply because we love the food there.

Close the guidebook a culinary insiders' tip is following

So which place I am writing about? Did you guess it? Well it is the Restaurant Liebstöckl. Very convenient for you, it is only a few meters away from the apartments and so you do not have to go far to get Viennese delicacies, authentically without much fuss. Simply good food.

Viennese cuisine as it should be, no more no less

And so you can choose between typical dishes like Wiener Schnitzel, Tafelspitz (boiled beef), Goulash, oven-fresh roast pork, Backhendl (the Viennes version of fried chicken) and varying seasonal dishes. A recommendation is really difficult as we still can not decide what the best is.

For lunch you have in addition to the regular menu 3 fine lunch menus, something vegetarian is always there.

Highly recommendable is in late autumn, Martiniganls (oven rosted goose) comin together with red cabbage and potato dumplings (the dumplings are just mouth watering ...). A pre-order is a good tip.

Your culinary hosts

What makes the restaurant even more adorable are the two tenants, Iwona and Richard Peterseil, innkeepers from passion and always in a good mood:-)) Their passion for gastronomy "Traditional dishes, prepared with high quality and fresh ingredients, with no flavor enhancers."

So I can really recommend you to go there and enjoy lunch or dinner away from any guidebook, real Viennese dishes as they should be.

Greetings from the Appartements Ferchergasse
