For sure you know the situation, you are a few days in a city (in this case, Vienna), but unfortunately the weather is not quite as you've imagined it? Then you can find countless alternatives in Vienna, so that even a rainy day can be exciting and well spend.

Top-class exhibitions and an interactive museum

Today I have a few suggestions for you from the more cultural side as there are some really interesting and exciting exhibitions going on in Vienna at the moment.

Until 2nd November you have the opportunity in the Architekturzentrum to admire the works of Gaudi and be amazed by what he has created in his life. If you are then already in the Museumsquartier, you can also explore the other museums or simply reminisce the exhibition over a coffee.

I continue with two more very high-profile exhibitions.

The Belvedere dedicated a special exhibition to the comprehensive work of Claude Monet and his influence on the Austrian art. So works of famous Austrian artists are compared with the works of Monet and you get a unique view of his inspirations.

The Kunsthistorisches Museum is waiting for you with a special exhibition, which has never been seen in this context before: the works of Diego Velázquez, the painter of the king.

Until the beginning of February 2015 you can have a look at the original dresses of Empress Elisabeth, which is shown next to the permanent exhibition on the occasion of the 10th birthday of the Sisi Museum.

A special highlight in the art scene is the annual art fair "Art & Antique" in the Hofburg. From 8th to 16th November you have the chance in the imperial flair of the Hofburg to admire and acquire pieces that you might see and get nowhere else. A total of 50 national and international galleries and art dealers present this year.

And finally, a classic among interactive museums, the House of Music. Whether young or old, the house of music inspires all who love music. Here you can listen and learn, from classic to futuristic sounds of music on multiple levels. The tickets you can comfortably buy online.
