There are few nicer ways to start the day than a relaxed breakfast – and the best part: you don’t have to go far from us at all. Here in the neighbourhood, mornings smell of fresh bread rolls, and a few really lovely spots are waiting practically on the doorstep. Come along, we’ll let you in on our favourites.

Cosy and full of character

You’ll find a little slice of the north right in the middle of Hernals at Anns Café (Hormayrgasse): Swedish cinnamon buns, good coffee and a calm, lovingly designed space – perfect for a relaxed „fika

Families with children are in great hands at Melman’s (Hernalser Hauptstraße): while you enjoy a leisurely breakfast, the little ones let off steam on the indoor playground.

Fancy coffee and a pastry like in grandma’s day? At L. Heiner, the long-established confectioner on Hernalser Hauptstraße, you get both – and the display alone is worth the visit. And if you simply want crusty rolls and good pastries for breakfast in your apartment, the Café-Bäckerei Linsbichler (baking since 1938) is just the place.
